Having crooked, gapped, or overcrowded teeth can impact both your appearance and your oral health. You’re more likely to feel self-conscious or anxious about how others might perceive you if you’re not happy with your dental condition. Furthermore, misaligned teeth are more vulnerable to developing tooth decay and gum disease because it’s harder to reach all their surfaces to clean them consistently.

If you’re unhappy with how your teeth look, Dr. Sandadi has a subtle but effective way to straighten your smile with SureSmile clear aligners. Continue reading to learn more about this popular alternative orthodontic method, and feel free to contact us for additional information!

How SureSmile Works

Instead of relying on tension exerted by strategically placed brackets and wires, SureSmile utilizes clear plastic trays that fit over your teeth like a glove to shift them over a designated period gradually. You’ll start the process by scheduling a consultation with Dr. Sandadi to ensure you’re a good candidate. Then, he’ll take images and scans of your mouth that are used to design your customized aligners.

You must wear the trays for 20 to 22 hours every day to prevent your teeth from reverting to their previous positions. Then, after a week or two, you’ll be directed to switch to a new set to account for their ongoing progress.

Typically, treatment timelines can range anywhere from 12 to 18 months, though it can be more or less, depending on your unique circumstances.

Who SureSmile Can Help

Anyone who wants straighter teeth can potentially benefit from SureSmile, but that doesn’t make it the best solution for everyone. If your grin is severely crooked or you have a significant malocclusion (bite misalignment), then traditional braces might be required because they offer greater manipulation of movement.

Below is a brief outline of some of the issues that clear aligners can address:

Crowded Teeth

If your teeth are pressed so tightly together that they overlap, it can detract from your dental well-being. You’ll have a harder time thoroughly brushing and flossing them, leaving you vulnerable to cavities and gingivitis. Plus, you’re more likely to worry about how others perceive you.

Realigning your grin with SureSmile can improve your daily quality of life by enhancing your oral condition and boosting your confidence.

Gaps Between Teeth

Not only can wide spaces between your teeth have you feeling self-conscious about your reflection in the mirror, but they can also easily trap pieces of food and other debris. This attracts harmful bacteria that contribute to a range of dental problems. Furthermore, more of your gum tissue is exposed and can be injured.

SureSmile can be used to spread your teeth out more evenly to reduce potential damage.

Bite Alignment

If your teeth don’t touch where they should when you close your mouth, then you might suffer from an overbite, underbite, crossbite, or other malocclusion. SureSmile can be used to reposition your jaw to preserve your enamel and maintain your oral health, though it may require additional attachments and accessories.

The Benefits of SureSmile

There are many advantages to choosing SureSmile over traditional braces, including:

  • Shorter treatments. Instead of having bulky brackets bonded to your teeth for 18+ months, you can potentially complete treatment within one year!
  • Enjoy your favorite meals. Because the trays are easily removed to eat, there are no dietary restrictions to worry about.
  • Easily maintain dental hygiene. You won’t need special tools to reach around brackets, so cleaning your teeth is as simple as brushing and flossing twice daily as usual.
  • Faster follow-ups. Every 4 to 8 weeks, you’ll check in with Dr. Sandadi to ensure you’re on track so he can provide the following sets of aligners, which often only takes 15 to 30.
  • Enhanced comfort. The smooth plastic material won’t gouge the tender tissues inside your mouth like standard orthodontics do.

How Much Does SureSmile Cost?

You might not pay the exact same amount as someone else getting SureSmile because the cost depends on your unique circumstances. Once you’ve had your initial consultation appointment, our team will provide a detailed estimate based on our findings. The more severe your condition is, the more likely you are to need additional trays, which drives up the price.

Many dental insurance policies don’t cover SureSmile because it’s often considered a cosmetic treatment, but don’t worry! If you’re worried about your budget, you can apply for flexible financing to break down your total invoice into more manageable installments. Please let us know if you need help with any paperwork or applications! Our friendly office staff is happy to assist you in maximizing your options.
